Our Vision Statement:

"After years of riding events across the world, as your event organiser, we wanted to bring together elements of what we loved about these events into our own events.  We started with our course; where we took inspiration from the beautiful sweeping roads around the lakes of Italy, the challenging short but steep gradients of Belgium and the steady but long climbs of France.  Next, we wanted to ensure our riders have a great experience and be able to share the stories of the day afterwards and what better way to do this than a traditional Gran Fondo Pasta Party Celebration and entertainment post ride.  We are proud to present Gran Fondo Scotland."

By entering either of our events, you will have the chance to ride on some of Britain and Central Scotland's most stunning and iconic roads with 2 distances to choose from in each event.  "The Medio Fondo"  in our events ranges between 86km-88km.  The summer edition takes in 2386ft of elevation gain and our autumn edition takes in 2913ft of elevation gain.  Then for the enthusiasts, we have "The Gran Fondo's" ranging between 120km and 127km in length and truly epic elevation gains of 4065ft (summer edition) and 5026ft (autumn classic).  Both inspired by our original vision statement.

We welcome riders of all abilities, from beginners to racers, to join us on a great day out.  Whether it's with old or new friends, challenge yourself in either of our 2 great courses which are electronically chip-timed from start to finish.  Although this is a non competitive event, to bring an authentic Italian feel, we will also have signposted Strava based KOM's where you can test yourself on the day against your friends or team/club mates if you wish.

On completion of either course what better way to finish up your day by enjoying our indoor post event Pasta Party Celebration and entertainment which is included in your entry fee!

A Gran Fondo is a type of long-distance road cycling event of at least 120 kilometres (75 mi) long and are individually chip-timed.  Originating in Italy Gran Fondo roughly translates into English as "Big Ride".  The starts are done en masse, and the format allows for riders of every level to participate, like a marathon, where most participants are competing against the clock instead of other participants.  Traditionally a large meal is served to the participants at the end of the event.
